Inositol Hexaphosphate is the main vehicle through which phosphorus is stored in plant tissues. Seeds and bran make the most use out of Inositol Hexaphosphate. It is sometimes called IP6, Phytate or Phytic acid when it is in the form of a salt.
Inositol Hexaphosphate is part of the B-vitamin chain. IP6, the direct derivative of Inositol Hexaphosphate, is a necessary ingredient in the tissues of many types of legumes, with soybeans having the highest concentration. This makes soybeans one of the greatest sources of nutritionally derived IP6 along with other high fiber foods such as cereals, beans, corn, tofu, oatmeal, brown rice and peanuts, just to name a few. Inositol Hexaphosphate is highly effective as an antioxidant and helps the immune system to be more effective.
IP6 is helpful during the metabolism of nutrients such as calcium. It is also helpful in promoting growth of the hair, development of the ocular membrane, metabolism of bone marrow cells and the transportation of fats found in the liver to other parts of the body.
